I was reading through some news comments on yahoo yesterday. I was reminded of a line... It says, 'Let he who has never sinned throw the first stone'. I do agree with the line of thought. Who are we to judge people when we are all as guilty as hell? But, how hard would it be to put it into practice? Every single day, every single moment, we are forming judgements of people we meet, regardless whether it's their behaviors or minute things like the color of their hairdo. And when we do throw aside these everyday judgements, we would be judging celebrities, politicians, other races and religions etc. No matter how much we denounce subjective and judgemental opinions, we succumb to its temptation more often than not.
Being in the shoes to judge makes people feel superior. It translates to a form of authority and power. You would be surprised this is how many bitches and male chauvinist pigs boasts their self-confidence; that is, by putting others down. The common tactic is to rub in the sore spots, paint the facts with bright colors, spread to the right people who would spread to others. Now that the foundation has been laid, wait for the fire to spread and give a pose of innocence when it does. Sly, evil, shallow, superficial... and really pathetic as a human, but how many of them walks among us or maybe we are guilty of it in our little ways?
The next time you want to form a judgement on people, be prepared to be judged. I think the only people who survives in this judging and being judged cycle are those who are most composed, those who are most thick-skinned, or those who are most shrewd. Lols I think I belong to none of the categories because I am weak in politics. I don't know if I'm running away from the inevitable, but at least I am happier staying simple. But appreciating simplicity isn't all that easy, isn't it? Bitches won't stop barking, people won't stop backstabbing just like the world won't stop spinning. It's sad.
And it's ironic, that this post is a judgement in itself.
